My Mum, Jo, told the people at the Mayflower Health Center that I loved people. Now, you must know, I DO love people. They intrigue me. But, what intrigues me even more is the GREEN grass. So when Mum offered to bring me over to see the people, I turned the corner and saw GREEN GRASS. Now, I had to make a choice. Was I going to be nice to these people, or try to get over to the green grass to eat. Let me think.

Socks -- and Amazing Wonder Horse

Hi. My name is TejonHasaNic. But, just call me Socks. My Dad was a famous reining cow horse, Remenic and my mom was By Word. I was born on the Tejon Ranch in California. It's up on a high mountain between Los Angeles and Bakersfield. My REAL dad and trainer, Doug Williamson, named me and trained me. He still loves me to this day.
Since my dad was famous, they thought I would be famous, too. Yes, I competed in the Reining Cow Horse futurities and won some big reining events, but I really liked cutting and roping best.
After my young and robust days of competition, the big trainers turned to the young upstarts that could win them more money, and I was entrusted to Jo.
Enough about my high school days. I am with the love of my life, Jo. Jo didn't know anything about riding. So I had to train her. I would babysit her all day long. I would only go as fast as I knew she could stay on. I tried to let her know exactly what to do, but she was soooo green.
After a few years she decided to move back to Iowa with her husband, Duane. So she brought be out of the dessert of Bakersfield to the lush green grasses in Grinnell, Iowa.
I really didn't know how wonderful the spring of IOWA could be until I backed out of the horse trailer that April day and saw green. Green everywhere! And then I found out that GREEN WAS GOOD!!!! Now, I will do anything for GREEN.
Tomorrow, I am going to talk about GREEN at the Health Center in Grinnell, Iowa.
